It encompasses five countries: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt. Each country contributes uniquely to the region’s overall identity and influences its socio-economic context.

Geographical Features

The geographical features of North Africa are predominantly characterized by vast deserts, mountain ranges, and significant coastlines. The Sahara Desert, the largest hot desert in the world, dominates much of this area, while the Atlas Mountains provide striking contrasts in elevation and biodiversity. Coastal regions along the Mediterranean Sea offer fertile grounds for agriculture, thus supporting local economies.

Cultural Significance

Culturally, North Africa boasts a rich tapestry woven from Berber, Arab, and Mediterranean influences.
