A cloud of sadness has fallen over St. Monica Elite Girls, Masimba, following the sudden death of a 19-year-old KCSE candidate shortly after completing her Tuesday afternoon examination.School officials report that the student, whose name has been withheld to protect the family’s privacy, had been feeling unwell in recent days. Despite her condition, she managed to sit for the day’s exam but appeared visibly weak as she left the examination room.Shortly afterward, her health deteriorated rapidly. Teachers and staff rushed to assist her, but she was pronounced dead shortly upon arrival at a nearby medical facility

Her body has since been moved to Kilome Funeral Home, where a post-mortem examination is expected to provide more clarity on the cause of death.Local education officials and health authorities have begun investigations to determine whether the student had underlying medical conditions or whether exam-related pressure may have worsened her situation.The school has arranged counseling for students and staff as the community comes to terms with the loss.
